Has anyone used or plan to use “Sandals” for their honeymoon?

I see the commercials for the resort company “Sandals” all the time and looked up their which sound great.

Has anyone used this?

Was it worth the money?

Sandals is ok, but by no means great. I went to jamica and one of my biggest problems is they need reservations for most diners that morning or night before………. who in the world knows what food youll feel like the night before(this is only for the nice eat in places on the resort)?? I have been to a bunch of other resorts and it just seemed that this place wasnt as good as most of the places i went. The local jamican people hastling you from there canoes in the water didnt help either haha.

We went to a couples resort for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. It’s pretty much the same thing as the sandals (they are usually right by each other) but the prices are a little better because you aren’t paying for the “sandal’s” name.

My best friend went last summer. She LOVED it. They did a lot of beach-sitting but also had some excursions like the rainforest zipline and a catamaran boat ride. She said it was worth it, it is really inexpensive and there was nothing bad about it. As a wedding gift I booked them a private candlelit dinner on the beach which they said was amazing as well. Also, right outside the resort is a state park with Mayan ruins (it’s a FREE hike but they don’t mention it to the guests!).

Good luck!

I stayed at Sandals Halcyon, St. Lucia in an Oceanfront Bungalow. It is excellent. They have day trips you can book at the hotel (excursions to nearby islands, snorkling, scuba diving, booze cruises) At Sandals, you can go to other Sandals resorts to eat and hang out. In St. Lucia, there are 2 other Sandals Resorts. I had problems in Jamaica with the peddlers selling stuff while they are in canoes and me being on the beach at the resort. I didn’t have this problem when I was in St. Lucia though.

What is great about Sandals is that there are no kids at the resort. it is couples only. So while you are at the pool relaxing or drinking, you don’t have to hear annoying and whining kids playing while you are trying to relax.

It’s not a big deal to make reservations. No matter where you stay, if you want to eat out, you generally have to make resevations.

I’ve stayed at Sandals Whitehouse and Sandals Negril in Jamaoca, Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia (the Grande St. Lucian is great for a honeymoon too) and would recommend any of these places for your honeymoon.

The all insclusive is well worth it. The room was well stocked with wine that is half decent. Going through 2 bottles in the evening, I never had to ask the front desk to be restocked. At one restaurant, I could decide between 2 entrees, so the waiter actually gave me both entrees. I sampled a little from each and didn’t have to worry about paying for anything. Sandals also has a strict policy against tipping. I tried to tip a couple or waiters and service staff, and they refused, and gave the money back to me.

We went to Sandals Regency at St. Lucia for our Honeymoon and it was THE BEST!!! We decided to go all out because most likely, it will be a while before we go on another big trip (we want kids =) ) We got a beautiful 1 bedroom suite on the bluffs (a cliff above the cove), with our own pool and butler service. And since we had butler service, they made our reservations for any restaurants they were needed. But there were also 4 other restaurants at this particular resort that didn’t need reservations and all the food was super delicious!! And we also were able to go to the other 2 resorts on St. Lucia and ours was by far the best. Ours was more people who have been there before, where as the other two were very “tourist” oriented (lots of shops and stuff like that). Anyways, I would definitely recommend going, and if you can afford it, go all out and get butler service! It was well worth it!! Message me if you ever want more info!! Good Luck!!
