How much is paying too much for a honeymoon?
I have currently planned my own honeymoon to pretty much take me across the US with my finace and then husband, Paul. We’re taking a train to several cities and staying in a few hotels between the rides. I don’t have a budget (though looking back I probably should) and I don’t want to pay to much. It’s a 10 day, 11 city trip and I plan on paying a little over $2500. Is that too much?

Make a budget or your spending will get out of control. I think you are better off driving to a national park that is close by or a nice beach and spending a week exploring the area. On the train you will see 11 cities go by at 60 miles an hour. Hope you have a high speed camera!!!!!! You won’t have much privacy on a train. If you want a train ride make it to one destination (pick a city) and spend the next few days visiting and exploring it.
That isn’t bad, considering train tickets and hotels! Go to the Amtrak site and plan your trip.

You could also go to a travel agent.
My wife and I got lucky. We only spent about $3000 on our wedding (we did a lot of the work ourselves and got the reception area donated), but also spent over $3000 on our honeymoon, which was a week at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, plus tourism, shopping, and knickknacks.
How much is too much? Any amount that leaves you further in debt.
A word of advice – don’t make your honeymoon a travel adventure. Keep it simple.
Unless you’ve been shacking up, of course. Then it doesn’t mean much anyway, so you might as well travel.
