what is the best way to plan a honeymoon without having to pay an arm and leg?
i was just on those sites like priceline and some of the others but someone told me its little better to just g to a travel agent that you can talk ot instead of a website.im just trying to get opinions and help on this since i have never planned stuff like this.

I htink it would be cheaper if you lokked on websites and planned it on your own. If you use a travel agent, you migh thave to ppay fees for their services. And it might not be as better as if you planned it own your own. Travel agents are great if you hav eno idea what you are looking for specifically but if you know exactly where you want to go and do. You could probably find it out on your own.
I didn’t have a honey moon, but who say i can’t have ideas?:) Any way if you can’t afford to travel out of the country try other states you never been before. Places that have attractions that you and your partner will enjoy. You don’t always have to go through a travel agency. Find out were you want to go and then go on line and look for tickets and prices. That simple Me and my husband do it all the time. I don’t know where you are from but where ever try the opposite coast from where you are. Good Luck and Happy Honeymooning!!!
My fiancee and I live in Philadelphia and we don’t want to spend an arm and a leg either. So we decided to go somewhere we never been before in the states such as, Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach, Disney World, Las Vegas, etc. to us it doesn’t matter if we go to Virginia Beach or the Bahamas because as long as we two are together and alone we don’t care where we go.
I think that once you know where you want to go and what you want to see it can be cheaper sourcing yourself online. Travel agents can do all the planning for you but they do that for a fee so you not only pay for your flights and accomodation but for the priviledge of having someone else organise it.
That said a travel agent CAN be cheaper. If you have not decided on a registry yet talk to a travel agent about a honeymoon registry. That way instead of getting towels and plates from your guests you can recieve a night of accomodation or a breakfast in your hotel or a sightseeing tour….. worth a look and your guests give your honeymoon as their gift to you
Look for a cruise. The cruise industry is over capacity and offering good deals. Prices include the cruise, food, and most of your beverages so they eliminate a lot of additional expenses. You only pack and unpack once and don’t need a rental car. There are departure ports all over the country so hopefully you wouldn’t have to travel far to get to a ship. Look on-line and then call if you don’t feel comfortable booking on-line.

If you book a year ahead they usually have made up packages that are at the minimum price you would pay for that holiday. These are on websites, in the travel section of the newspaper and at the travel agent.
For example we wanted to go to Malasia. Normally for 10 days it is about $900 each, we went to book 2 months ahead (at christmas) and they were asking $3000 each.
So book early and save.

we didn’t have a honeymoon so what we are doing is we are going to rent the honeymoon sweet at a hotel for our one year anniversary cause if u don’t have a lot of money u can do other things and still have the romantic touch to them hope this helps

but one of the best things you can do is create a honeymoon registry with http://www.depositagift.com (actually, it’s more than a honeymoon registry, you can register for anything, and create your wedding website with them, but if you just want a honeymoon registry, it’s perfect and what we are using too. i can’t say enough how satisified we’ve been)
